PANAJI: Oxford Cricket Club of Goa delivered a commanding performance to defeat Aim Cricket Academy B from Sawantwadi by 131 runs in the Late Rajan Bhai Angane Memorial Under 16 Cricket Tournament on Thursday.
Batting first after winning the toss at the Boarding Ground in Malvan, Oxford Cricket Club posted an imposing total of 234 runs before being bowled out in 34.2 overs. The innings was anchored by a magnificent century from Adeep Prabhu Miskin, who scored 102 runs off just 62 balls. His aggressive knock featured 12 boundaries and five sixes and provided the foundation for Oxford’s big total.
Captain Tanishq Naik supported the innings with a useful contribution of 22 runs, while Harsh Nain added 18. Extras also played a role in boosting the total. For Aim Cricket Academy B, Saish Virnodkar was the most successful bowler, claiming four wickets for 41 runs. Nanthan Sawant picked up two wickets, while Yash Bhise and Nihal Pednekar chipped in with one wicket each.
In response, Aim Cricket Academy B struggled to build momentum and were bowled out for 103 runs in 26.2 overs. Svanik Phadte top scored with 33 runs, while Nanthan Sawant made 18 and Saish Virnodkar contributed 17. Despite these efforts, the side failed to chase the challenging target set by Oxford.
Oxford’s bowling attack proved too strong for the opposition. Abhisek Lamani produced an outstanding spell, taking five wickets for 29 runs in seven overs and dismantling the batting line up. He received good support from Barhaan Dash, who claimed two wickets, while Mubarak Tadapatri and Tanishq Naik picked up one wicket each.
For his match winning bowling performance, Abhisek Lamani was named Man of the Match.
Oxford Cricket Club will now take on Ved Sports Club of Kolhapur in their next match scheduled for Friday, March 20.
