PONDA: A 37-year-old man from Usgao died after reportedly falling from a ladder while painting a house in Dharbandora on Saturday evening.
According to police, the deceased has been identified as Sanjay Kumar, a resident of Tisk-Usgao, Ponda. Around 8 p.m., the PHC Pilliem, Dharbandora, informed police that Kumar had been brought dead as a result of a fall from height.
Enquiries revealed that Kumar had taken up a painting contract at the house of Vibhakar Dessai at Pilliem. While painting, he allegedly lost balance and fell from a ladder about two metres high.
An inquest panchanama was conducted, and the body was sent for post-mortem examination. The police surgeon has kept the final cause of death reserved pending chemical analysis, though preliminary findings suggest sudden cardiac arrest secondary to cardiac disturbance or early myocardial ischemia, leading to acute pulmonary and cerebral edema.
The body was handed over to the family for final rites. Further enquiry is being conducted by PSI Bansal Naik of Ponda Police Station.
