DABOLIM: In a tragic incident on Wednesday evening, a 40-year-old painter from Dabolim, Maruti Jadhav, lost his life after falling into an excavated pit near Vales, Dabolim.
According to sources, the mishap occurred around 10 pm when Jadhav, who was riding a Dio scooter, accidentally fell into a pit dug up for the ongoing Dabolim flyover construction work.
Eyewitnesses said that Jadhav sustained serious injuries in the fall. He was rescued from the pit and rushed to the Chicalim Sub-District Hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.
The Vasco police reached the site upon receiving information and have launched an investigation into the incident.
