Dubai: Pakistan has lodged a complaint with the Asian Cricket Council after Indian players skipped post-match handshakes following their seven-wicket Asia Cup win in Dubai.
India captain Suryakumar Yadav and Shivam Dube did not approach the Pakistani team, citing solidarity with families of victims of the April Pahalgam terror attack and India’s Operation Sindoor. “Some things are beyond sportsmanship. We dedicate this victory to our armed forces,” Yadav said.
The Pakistan Cricket Board called India’s actions “unsporting,” noting the protest was filed by team manager Naveed Cheema. With the teams potentially meeting two more times in the tournament, the ACC may review the complaint.
