New Delhi: Pakistan has issued a second Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) within five days, a move seen as a precautionary response to India’s ongoing Tri-Services Exercise Trishul 2025. The latest NOTAM, effective from November 1 to 30, restricts airspace over large sections of Pakistan’s southern and coastal regions, signaling heightened military readiness.
Intelligence assessments suggest that the announcement points to preparations for possible naval live-firing drills and missile tests in the Arabian Sea, likely from platforms near the Sonmiani range. The move is being interpreted as both a deterrence measure and an indication of growing unease in Islamabad over India’s large-scale military operations.
Exercise Trishul 2025 involves coordinated participation from the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force across multiple strategic zones, including the western front and the Arabian Sea. Designed to test integrated combat readiness, joint logistics, and maritime dominance, the exercise is part of India’s regular defence schedule but has reportedly triggered heightened alert levels in Pakistan.
Officials monitoring regional security developments say the NOTAM reflects Islamabad’s attempt to project vigilance and maintain operational preparedness. It also underscores the deep-rooted mistrust that continues to shape military posturing between the two neighbours.
Reports indicate that Pakistan’s defence forces have been placed on high alert until the end of November, with enhanced surveillance along the coastline and repositioning of naval and air assets to safeguard national security. Radar coverage and airspace monitoring have been intensified to track movements across the north Arabian Sea region.
Analysts view the move as part of a broader pattern of reactive signalling between India and Pakistan, where large-scale exercises and precautionary NOTAMs often coincide. As India continues its joint drills under Trishul 2025, both nations appear to be reinforcing deterrence postures in a region already marked by strategic sensitivity.
