PANAJI: Goa Civic and Consumer Action Network, and Disability Rights Association of Goa (DRAG) notices lack of proper signage at the entrance of the city bis service area, lack of main zebra crossing being repainted, lack of proper passage for the Disabled pedestrians during a joint inspection today.
The lack of proper signage at the entrance of the City Bus service area, lack of the main Zebra Crossing being repainted, lack of proper passage for the Disabled pedestrians was noticed.
Aveline De Sa President DRAG personally walked the entire stretch from the entrance of the Bus Stand from the City Bus bays till the main Building Complex of the Bus stand and noted all the difficulties faced by the pedestrians who are disabled.
He also took note of the huge kiosk under construction which is blocking the free passage of the pedestrians thereby putting extra pressure on the ramp passage meant for the disabled persons. He further stated that DRAG will submit a detailed representation on the issues noted at the KTC Bus Stand and its recommendations to the District Collector, Director of Transport, Director Fire & Emergency Services, Chairman Kadamba Transport Corporation Limited and Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities.
Meanwhile Deputy Collector (Revenue) North Goa District Veera V. Nayak has directed the Tiswadi Mamlatdar to inquire and take appropriate action on the GOACAN representation to North Goa District Collector on the obstruction created to passenger passage due the construction of the huge kiosk at the Panaji KTC Bus Stand.
