MARGAO: Lawyer of Babush Monserrate has objected to the CBI’s move to close his case against police in Panaji police station attack case.
According to the lawyer of Babush Monserrate, CBI did not intimate his client about the closure of the case.
He said that the closure report should have been filed before special court, Margao and not JMFC Panaji.
He also demanded copy of the closure report. Meanwhile, special court has issued summons to five more witnesses in alleged Power rebate scam.
Later, one of the defence attorneys informed the media that the CBI had filed a closure report regarding the cross-complaint that Atanasio and Jennifer had filed against the police, even though the trial against the Monserrate couple and 35 other accused individuals’ sons is still ongoing.
We recently learned that the CBI had submitted a closure report about the cross-complaints the Monserrate couple had made against the police.
The contents of the closure report are unknown to us. The attorney declared, “We’re going to request a certified copy of the closure report.
“The government had released a notification designating the CBI to look into the attack on the Panaji,” he continued.
