PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant today said that Cabinet has accorded approval to increase salaries of Panchayat members by Rs 2000.
“Sarpanch to get 8,000, Dy Sarpanch 6,500, Panch ₹5,500. Financial implications of ₹2.63 cr annually,” said CM Sawant after chairing the cabinet meeting
There are 190 village panchayats in the state.
The last hike came in 2012 when the government increased the salaries of elected representatives of the village panchayats by 100 per cent.
