VASCO: Even as the several airports in the country were shut owing to the COVID19 pandemic, the Goa airport continued functioning to bring in the stranded Indian and Goans abroad.
Airport Director Gagan Malik says that despite many airports being shut due to Covid 19, Goa Airport had not been closed even for a single day.
“The Goa airport handled the relief flights, repatriation flights and Vande Bharat mission flights etc,” he said while speaking to reporters.
The Airport director Gagan Malik recalls the experience of entire year including the initial stages of lockdown.
“The number of passengers handled, spaces allotted for testing of passengers, handling of vaccine cargo and recovering of business as lockdown was opened gradually with the country slowly announcing the unlock plans,” he said.
Malik spoke on the entire year of lockdowm as the nation marks one year of lockdowm that was announced on March 20th last year.
