PANAJI: Goa University’s two-member Fact-Finding Committee turned in its report on the purported paper leak problem. PS Sreedharan Pillai, the governor and chancellor of Goa, has received the report.
Before moving forward, Goa University is now seeking instructions from the governor.
The fact that the Fact-Finding Committee has turned in its report and presented it to the Governor has been confirmed by Vice Chancellor Harilal Menon.
“Awaiting additional guidance from the Governor regarding the report,” Menon stated, declining to elaborate.
The findings will now be presented to the executive council for any necessary additional decision-making or investigation, according to GU Registrar Sunder Dhuri.
“The report is confidential,” he added.
On Monday, Goa University suspended Dr. Pranav Naik, an assistant professor in the School of Physical and Applied Sciences, on suspicion of giving a female student access to an exam paper while an investigation was ongoing.
As reported by the media, the National Students Union of India (NSUI), which is linked with the Congress, filed a complaint at the Agassaim police station after activist Kashinath Shetye and other like-minded persons filed the first complaint on Sunday.
A delegation from the NSUI Goa section, meanwhile, called on the governor on Wednesday to demand an unbiased investigation into the event and the prompt dismissal of the accused professor.
The students’ union also called for the GU employees who participated in hiding the entire episode to face consequences.
