PANAJI: Parents across Goa today hgave voiced strong opposition to the decision to start the new academic year in April 2025, citing concerns over student well-being, teacher workload and inconsistencies in the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
Cecille Rodrigues, parent , voiced strong concerns over the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) in Goa, stating, “Our objections are not being heard.
“We are not against the NEP, but its implementation is threatening our students’ future.” Rodrigues emphasized that despite these concerns, the Education Department has not conducted any meetings to address the issues raised by educators and stakeholders.
“We want our objections to be heard,” she continued, adding that a letter has been submitted to the Education Secretary to request a formal discussion on the matter. Rodrigues appealed for a platform where educators and stakeholders could express their concerns and engage in constructive dialogue regarding the policy’s implementation.
