Telaulim: Parish Youth Nuvem secured a comfortable win over United Club of Benaulim 4-0 to enter into the quarterfinals of the UCT trophy inter-village 9-a-side football tournament Organised by United Club of Telaulim and played at Government Primary School ground Telaulim on Tuesday.
Parish Youth Nuvem ride on the brace in each half from Francisco Colaco and Joywin Costa.
The match started on a promising note and Parish youth Nuvem had the upper hand and were in possession of the ball for 65 to 70 per cent on the field .
It was Francisco Colaco who opened the scoreline for Nuvem in the 7th minute of play with neat placement as feeded by Niclau Colaco then UC Benaulim got the chance to level the score when Swisten Rebello gave a pass from the left wing outside the box which was well taken but deflected the Nuvem defence and went out for corner and then Nuvem created a counter attack before the half time and Schubert Colaco gave through pass to Joywin costa who beat the defence and goalkeeper and placed the ball in the far corner of the net to make 2-0 at the breather
After the resumption of the second session Benaulim Josbern Fernandes was well feeded by Stallone Fernandes but the goalkeeper saved his powerful shoot by diving to his right to Clear the ball for a corner kick. As the match progresed in the fourth quarter Parish Youth Nuvem scored another two goals.
In the 40th minutes a sole effort by Francisco Colaco made 3-0 and he completed his brace and before the final whistle Joywin costa completed his brace by scoring 4th goal for his team.
