MARGAO: Parish Youth Nuvem secured their spot in the semifinals with a thrilling 1-0 victory over Guardian Angel Savordem, at the 33rd Super Soccer Tournament in memory of the late Joao Francis Fernandes, organized by United Boys of Dando Colva, thanks to a spectacular volley by Inacio Colaco in the 19th minute. The match, however, was anything but straightforward, with five yellow cards and a red card fueling intense on-field drama. The first half concluded with Nuvem holding a slender 1-0 lead, but the real action unfolded after the break.
Guardian Angel Savordem dominated the second half, relentlessly attacking Nuvem’s defence. Despite their midfielders orchestrating numerous opportunities, the Savordem forwards couldn’t find the back of the net.
Missed chances and near-misses left Savordem frustrated, as Nuvem’s defence held firm under pressure.
The match’s tension was palpable, with tempers flaring and the referee kept busy managing the game’s fiery nature. In the end, Nuvem’s early brilliance and steadfast defence saw them through to the semifinals in an action-packed encounter.
Inacio Colaco received a man of the match award from Markus Carvalho former National football player for his outstanding contribution.
