CANACONA: The premises of Samsthan Gokarn Partagali Jeevottam Math will remain temporarily closed to devotees, tourists, and visitors from January 2, 2026, following the resumption of balance civil and finishing works after the conclusion of its 550th Year Celebrations.
According to the Construction Committee of the Math, the ongoing works include pending civil and finishing activities within the Math premises as well as in the areas surrounding the newly installed Rama Pratima. The works are being carried out to ensure the safe, proper, and orderly completion of the entire project.
In view of the construction activities and to avoid any safety risks, public access to the premises has been restricted until further notice. The committee has appealed to devotees and visitors to refrain from visiting the Math during this period to ensure personal safety and to allow the works to proceed without interruption.
While acknowledging the sentiments and religious feelings of devotees, the committee stated that the temporary closure was unavoidable and in the larger interest of both public safety and the successful completion of the remaining works.
The Construction Committee has sought the cooperation and understanding of devotees, visitors, and the general public during the closure period and assured that a separate advisory or notification would be issued once the works are completed and the premises are ready to be reopened.
