PANAJI: The Gadre Gaspar Dias Open 2026 concluded with impressive performances as nineteen year old Parth Deorukhakar captured the Open Men’s Singles title and Unnathi V. Muralidhar emerged champion in the Open Women’s Singles category. The finals were played at the historic Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias courts in Panaji, bringing together some of the finest talent from across the region. Parth completed a remarkable campaign by also winning the men’s doubles crown, securing a prestigious double triumph.
In the men’s singles final, Parth faced a strong challenge from Praneeth Venugopal but held his composure to win in straight sets 7 to 6 and 7 to 5 after a closely contested battle. The women’s final witnessed an exciting comeback from Unnathi, who recovered after losing the opening set to defeat Nidi S with scores of 2 to 6, 6 to 4 and 10 to 3. Her fighting spirit and consistent baseline play earned her well deserved applause.
The junior categories also produced outstanding contests. Gargi Oak dominated the Girls Under 12 final with a commanding 4 to 0, 4 to 0 victory over Urvi Pai Panandiker. She later added the Girls Under 16 title by defeating Tvisha Sardesai 4 to 1, 4 to 1, completing an impressive double. In the Boys Under 16 section, Arav Naik edged past Kyan Mavany 4 to 0, 2 to 4 and 11 to 9 in a thrilling three set encounter. The Boys Under 12 final saw Kriyansh RM overcome Divyaraj Chouhan 4 to 1, 3 to 4 and 10 to 7 after another hard fought match.
The men’s doubles title was claimed by the pair of Parth Deorukhakar and Arnav Bansode, who defeated Ashwin Narsinghani and Prathamesh Patil 7 to 6 and 6 to 2. In the mixed doubles final, Trisha Vinod and Maaz Khan combined effectively to beat Anupama Darade and Eshaan Khadeer 7 to 6 and 6 to 0.
A formal prize distribution ceremony marked the conclusion of the eleventh edition of the tournament. Organisers and committee members congratulated the winners and praised the high level of competition across all categories. The championship, jointly organised by Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias and the Gadre Group in association with the Goa State Tennis Association, once again proved to be an important platform for nurturing emerging tennis talent in the state.
