PORVORIM: Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte today defended foreign trips and participation of Goa in international events stating it was crucial.
Altone D’Costa raised questions about whether the foreign trips organized by the tourism department are truly beneficial for Goa or just a waste of money.
He also questioned whether these trips are part of the tender process, nominations, or post-facto decisions.
“Participation in international events is crucial, as Goa needs to showcase and position itself internationally,” said Khaunte
He added that the agencies involved are empaneled in A and B categories, which are assigned through a proper tender process for foreign trips undertaken by the department.
