CANACONA: To commemorate Gandhi Jayanti, 33 NCC cadets and a faculty of Parvatibai Chowgule College had a trek and cleanliness drive at Netravali Wildlife Sanctuary.
The event was held with an aim to promote teamwork, leadership, and environmental responsibility amongst the NCC Cadets.
The determined cadets embarked on a challenging 3-kilometer trek, culminating at the Savri waterfalls base, testing their physical endurance and fostering a bond among seniors and juniors. The cadets collected approximately three bags of waste picking it up along their trek and the waterfall area/sorroundings, inspiring tourists and civilians to join forces and spread awareness about environmental conservation.
The event concluded with a visit to the Netravali Nature Exhibition, featuring interactive displays on wood, butterfly, and snake species, showcasing the potential of NCC initiatives in shaping future citizens.
Embedded in community service, the trek and cleanliness underscores the importance of environmental responsibility, inspiring future initiatives and promoting holistic development and community engagement amongst the civilians at large.
