PANAJI: The Hospital Information Management System (HIMS), an online system that centralizes patient data, will be implemented in January by the Super Speciality Block (SSB) at the Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC) as part of a significant digital transformation.
On Monday, Health Minister Vishwajit Rane used X to introduce the proposed HIMS program, which centralizes data through an online system that maintains patient medical information and monitors hospital operations.
“The goal of this revolutionary project is to increase efficiency, simplify hospital operations, and facilitate easy access to patient records,” he stated.
According to Rane, patients will benefit from speedier registration, quicker diagnostics, and better overall care thanks to the cutting-edge system.
In order to keep a record of their treatment, doctors are already filling out outpatient paperwork by hand and instructing patients to follow up with earlier forms.
According to the National AIDS Control Organization’s (NACO) assessment for the first quarter of 2024, which runs from April to June, Goa is the state with the best performance in the nation.
The State performed exceptionally well in a number of important health metrics, such as HIV testing, linkages, STI/RTI reporting, syphilis and pregnancy screening, and more. The outstanding accomplishment, according to Rane, is a result of all facilities’ persistent efforts.
