PANAJI: BJP state president Sadanand Tanawade said Rajesh Patnekar would be the front runner candidate for the upcoming assembly elections from Bicholim Constituency.
“Current MLA Rajesh Patnekar will be the front runner as a candidate for Bicholim Constituency in 2022 assembly elections,” said Tanawade
He further said that the parliamentary party board would be taking the final decision regarding candidate fixtures. He added that the party could recommend names, but the high command will make the final decision.
“Once the candidate is declared, party worker should stand behind that person and for the betterment of constituency,” he said
When asked whether he is planning to contest, Tanawade said that he would not be contesting and was his duty to carry the responsibility of electing candidates.
The 2022 state assembly election will be held under the leadership of CM Pramod Sawant, asserted BJP State Party, President Sadanand.
