PANAJI: PWD Minister Deepak Pauskar today blamed social media for going overdrive on bad road conditions in the State.
“Some people take pictures or video and later zoom it and try to show the potholes as huge, this is not right, we are very serious on this issue and by December this all roads will be re-carpeted,” said Pauskar
He further said that contractors will start re-carpeting works by October 15 and it was delayed due to the rains.
“We are serious on the road issues and regulary take review meetings with all departments and Chief Minister Pramod Sawant,” he said
He said that state government has plans to expand Ghat roads in Goa. He also informed that the process for environment clearance has begun. Pauskar said that the government will plant 10 times the trees cut for the project.
“Only 40% of road works have been completed of work order given during 2020-21,” he added
Pausakar has said that 60% of works are still pending due to the short supply of material and labour. “Now we will take up these works. All internal roads and highway works will be completed in the next four months or before elections,” he added
