CURCHOREM: A physical education teacher at a reputable high school in Curchorem was suspended by the Education Department for reportedly beating a Class 9 pupil who was making noise in the classroom. According to reports, the student sustained serious neck injuries.
According to reports, the instructor had previously been transferred several times as a result of similar instances that had happened in numerous other schools.
The teacher was thereafter the target of a complaint from the child’s mother at the Curchorem police station.
The mother said that because the teacher had abused her son, she had filed the complaint.
“The teacher came into the classroom and slapped my son without cause or rhyme as he was waiting for the English session. He grabbed my son’s collar and roughed him up, which made him uncomfortable. The mother then described how the teacher struck her son in the neck.
The incident has sparked worries about student safety and demands for stronger regulations to prevent future occurrences of this kind.
