The rider, who remains unidentified, fled the scene without reporting the incident or assisting the injured victim. The pedestrian was rushed to Goa Medical College, Bambolim, by emergency services and was undergoing treatment in Ward No. 108.
Tragically, after more than four months of medical care, the victim passed away on April 23, 2025. Following his death, Anjuna Police registered a case under Crime No. 72/2025 for rash and negligent driving resulting in death (Sections 281 and 106 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023), and for failing to report the accident (Section 134(a)(b) of the Motor Vehicles Act).
