Ponda: A road accident involving a Mercedes Benz car and a pedestrian was reported near the Arla–Keri bus stop in Ponda on December 1, 2025, at around 3.05 pm.
According to a complaint filed by Mohan Gaonkar, a resident of Arla, Keri, Ponda, the driver of the Mercedes Benz vehicle, identified as Sandeep Shilkar, a resident of Talewada, Betki, Ponda, allegedly drove the car in a rash and negligent manner without taking proper care and caution.
Upon reaching near the Arla–Keri bus stop, the vehicle reportedly dashed into the complainant, who was walking as a pedestrian.
As a result of the impact, the complainant fell on the road and sustained grievous bodily injuries.
Police have registered a case in this connection, and further investigation is being carried out by HC 5574 Sitaram Tari of Mardol Police Station.
