PONDA: A pedestrian sustained grievous injuries after being hit by a Tata Winger at Curti, Ponda, on Tuesday afternoon.
According to a complaint filed by ASI Rohidas Bhomkar of Ponda Police Station, the incident occurred on October 7, 2025, around 2 pm, when the accused, identified as Mohamad Momin, a resident of Ponda, was allegedly driving a Tata Winger in a rash and negligent manner from Copperwada, Curti, towards Goa Dairy.
When the vehicle reached near Mahalaxmi Residence, Sidhu Nagar, Curti, it reportedly knocked down a pedestrian, Abdul Khalid Siddique, a resident of Zingdimoll, Curti, causing grievous injuries to his right leg.
Police said the driver fled the scene along with the vehicle without providing medical assistance to the injured and without informing the authorities.
A case has been registered at Ponda Police Station for rash and negligent driving and hit-and-run.
