CALANGUTE: A pedestrian sustained a fracture while his friend suffered a head injury after being hit by a scooter driven in a rash and negligent manner at Bodkawado Junction, Calangute.
According to police, the complaint was filed by Parshuram Kallappa Shiranagi (34), a resident of Naikawado, Verla, Canca, Bardez. The incident occurred on April 8 at around 10:33 pm when the accused, identified as Nur Alam Mondal (18), a native of West Bengal and currently residing at Nagoa, was riding a Yamaha Fascino scooter bearing registration number GA-03-AQ-6583.
Police said the rider allegedly drove the scooter in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against the complainant and his friend, Hanumanta Talwar, who were on foot near Bodkawado Junction. The impact caused a fracture to the complainant’s right leg and a head injury to Talwar.
The accused rider also reportedly collided with an Eicher goods carrier bearing registration number GA-03-K-8908 following the incident.
