PORVORIM: A fatal road accident was reported at Malim near Malim Jetty, Betim, on Friday evening, in which an unknown male pedestrian lost his life after being hit by a passenger bus.
According to Porvorim Police, on December 13, 2025, at around 22.45 hrs, HC Shripad S/o Keshav Teli (B. No. 4595), attached to Porvorim Police Station, lodged a complaint on behalf of the State. The incident had occurred earlier at about 15.45 hrs near Samarath Liquor Shop, Betim–Goa, when the driver of a passenger bus bearing registration number MH-14-MH-4383, proceeding from Verem towards Malim Jetty, allegedly drove the vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against an unknown male pedestrian aged approximately 50 years.
The pedestrian sustained serious injuries and was rushed to Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim, where he was declared brought dead to the casualty. The identity of the deceased is yet to be established.
Further investigation into the case is in progress.
