CANSAULIM: A speeding car struck three people close to a bus stop in Upasnagar, Sancoale, causing a horrific accident that claimed one life.
On Sunday, Gultajbi Patel, a resident of Cansaulim, passed away from his wounds at the Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC), Bambolim.
The accident happened on Saturday night when Aftab Farashi, who is currently living in Nerul after being born in Joida, Uttar Kannada, drove the automobile recklessly and rashly on his way from Vasco to Verna, knocking down the three pedestrians, according to the Verna Police. Mohammad Yasin Tambadi and Tahashildar Sahir, the other two pedestrians, were hurt in the collision.
For medico-legal purposes, Patel’s body has been kept in the GMC morgue.
In accordance with Sections 281 and 106 (1) of the BNS, the Verna Police have filed a case against driver Aftab Farashi and are looking into what caused the collision.
