FATORDA: A pedestrian sustained grievous injuries after being hit by a car driven in a rash and negligent manner near Aster Hospital, Fatorda, on October 18, 2025.
According to the state complaint lodged by ASI Durgesh Pawaskar of Fatorda Police Station, the incident occurred at around 1:45 p.m. when the accused, identified as Minguel Silva, a resident of Matmorod, Sao Jose de Areal, was driving a Breeza car from Monte Hill, Margao, towards Holy Spirit Church.
Police stated that Silva allegedly lost control of the vehicle and veered to the extreme left side of the katcha road, where he rammed into iron compound poles and a pedestrian identified as Yash Satedekar, a resident of Kudal, Maharashtra. The impact flung the pedestrian onto the roadside, leaving him with grievous injuries.
The vehicle then crashed into the compound wall of a nearby house opposite Aster Hospital.
A case of rash and negligent driving endangering human life has been registered against the driver. Further investigation is being carried out by ASI Durgesh Pawaskar of Fatorda Police Station.
