CANACONA: In a swift response to a distress call, the Canacona police arrested a man suspected of secretly recording a woman while she was bathing in a bungalow late last night. The incident unfolded in a residential area of Canacona, where an elderly couple resides.
The woman, who was taking a bath, became aware of suspicious movements through the bathroom ventilator and immediately alerted her husband. The couple, suspecting someone’s presence behind their bungalow, contacted the police and reported the incident. By the time the police arrived, the suspect had already fled the scene.
Police investigators collected CCTV footage from the bungalow and surrounding areas, which led them to identify a man living in the neighboring area as the prime suspect. After verifying the footage, the police tracked and arrested the individual, bringing him to the Canacona police station.
According to police sources, the arrested person denied any involvement in recording the woman, but the police are continuing to verify this claim. The investigation also includes checking for any potential theft, although no items were reported missing. The alleged culprit is currently lodged at the Canacona police station as the investigation continues.
