PANAJI: In response to a hit-and-run accident that was reported in Dhargal on Monday morning, Pernem police have established several teams to locate and apprehend the driver and any passengers involved.
The Pernem police have filed a formal complaint (FIR) against the driver who caused the accident under sections 134(a)(b) of the MV Act, 279 (rash driving), and 304-A (causing death by negligence) of the IPC.
Details of the car’s collision with a Yamaha Fascino scooter GA-11-F-3368 that was going in the same direction are still pending confirmation. Devidas Konadkar, a 55-year-old scooter rider, suffered injuries and passed away while being transported to the hospital, according to DySP Jivba Dalvi.
“Without calling the police to report the collision or assisting the injured victim in getting medical attention, the driver of the unidentified vehicle left the scene. To find the accused and seize the cars involved in the collision, teams have been assembled, according to Dalvi.
