PERNEM: Pernem Police has arrested one accused for committing theft of bike at Arambol.
The accused identified as 31-year-old Shibu Manik Mandal from Hasnabad, West Bengal hit a foreigner lady pedestrian at Arambol on June 9 and fled from the spot by leaving the bike at the accident spot.
Based on the video’s taken by locals at the accident site, Police managed to get a picture of the accused and also came to know that he was injured.
Accordingly they kept a close watch on all the health centers and managed to nab the accused from District Hospital, Mapusa when he went there to get his injuries treated.
Shibu has confessed that the bike he was riding was a stolen one. Police informed that the accused is likely to be involved in more bike thefts in the area.
