Navelim: In a thrilling display of skill and determination, Perpetual Succour Convent High School Navelim has emerged victorious in the U13 women’s football tournament, defeating St. Anne’s Institute Agonda with a convincing 3-0 scoreline. This championship, organized by the Navelim Sporting Club at the Rosary Church ground in Navelim, brought together some of the region’s most talented young players. Notable figures such as Rev. Fr. Clive Dias and Shri. Avertano Furtado were in attendance, underscoring the event’s significance.
Perpetual Succour Convent High School Navelim dominated the finals, with Venicia Carvalho scoring a brace and Clea Colaco adding one goal to secure their championship title. The tournament, held at the picturesque Rosary Church ground, was a testament to the growing interest in women’s football in the region. Rev. Fr. Clive Dias, the chief guest, presented the awards, recognizing outstanding performances throughout the competition. Janalie Colaco was named the Best Goalkeeper, while Ayushi Naik took home the Best Defender award. Gwyneth Fernandes was recognized as the Best Half, highlighting her crucial role in the team’s success. Venicia Carvalho was honored as the Best Striker and first scorer, and Clea Colaco was named Player of the Final, showcasing her exceptional skills on the field.
