BICHOLIM: Bicholim Police have solved a theft case reported at Krishna Petrol Pump, Sankhali, and arrested two accused persons while detaining a juvenile in conflict with law, with investigators invoking provisions related to organised crime.
According to Bicholim Police Station Crime No. 171/2025, an offence under Sections 305 and 331(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023 was registered on December 28, 2025, following a complaint by Mr. Sunil Parvatkar (51), a resident of Karapur, Tisk Sankhali.
The complainant stated that in the early hours prior to 5.50 am on December 28, an unknown person gained entry into the office of his petrol pump, Krishna Petrol Pump, and committed theft of cash amounting to ₹9,000 along with a CCTV DVR.
During the course of investigation, three suspects — Mahesh Shetty (19) of Karai Shirodkar, Bhuvan Pillai (18) of Peddem, Mapusa, and a juvenile — were detained at odd hours by PSI Rashmir Parab Matonkar while on mobile patrol duty within the Bicholim police station jurisdiction. Upon interrogation, the suspects confessed to their involvement in the crime.
Police also seized a Honda Dio two-wheeler from the possession of the accused, which is suspected to be stolen.
Further interrogation revealed that the accused were allegedly operating as part of a syndicate involved in organised criminal activities and had prior involvement in multiple offences in Banda, Kudal and other parts of Maharashtra. Based on these disclosures, Section 112 of the BNS, 2023, relating to organised crime, has also been added to the case.
The accused Mahesh Shetty and Bhuvan Pillai have been formally arrested, while the juvenile has been sent to Apna Ghar, Merces, after following due legal procedures.
