FLORIDA: A job advertisement issued by a Pharma company for recruitment at its plant in Goa, inviting people from Maharashtra for walk-in interviews has been strongly opposed and criticised by the Goa Forward party, who claims it’s a deliberate attempt to keep Goans out.
Goa Forward Party (GFP) President and Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai today has demanded Chief Minister Pramod Sawant’s intervention.
“Walk-in interviews to be held in Boisar, Maharashtra, for an Indoco Remedies plant in #Goa is a deliberate attempt to avoid hiring Goans, and an affront to Goa,” said Sardesai.
He further said that this absurdity is allowed to happen when Goa’s unemployment rate is higher than the national average.
“I had warned the Goa Government of pharma companies engaging in such deviousness, both in the Assembly and outside, and was assured of strict action. I want the Goa CM to immediately intervene, and stand up for Goemkars running from pillar to post in search of jobs,” he added.
“If Goans do not benefit from industries in Goa, why have them here in the first place?” questioned Vijai.
On the other hand, Revolutionary Goans Party (RGP) President Manoj Parab said that this attitude of Pharma companies in Goa has crossed all the limits.
“Company in Goa and interview in Maharashtra. This attitude of Pharma companies in Goa has crossed all the limits,” said Parab.
He further said that the BJP government has sold our jobs to Migrants. “We do not have a strong Job reservation policy for locals. It’s all about donations and electoral bonds for BJP,” Parab added.
