SATTARI: A massive fire engulfed a pharmaceutical warehouse at Honda Industrial Estate in the wee hours of Thursday.
As per information, the fire broke out at around 2 am on Thursday. The warehouse was closed no persons were on duty.
Nearly, 8 fire tenders from Valpoi and Bicholim were pressed into service and the fire was brought under full control in 6 hours.
The loss is estimated to be in lakhs and the cause of the fire is till unknown.
The warehouse, which contained chemicals and other medical supplies, turned into a firefighting arena for the firefighters.
Because of the fire’s intensity, eight fire bombs and heavy machinery—including a JCB—had to be used in the fight against the flames.
Nevertheless, the business suffered large losses that are thought to have cost millions of rupees. The exact reason behind the fire is still being looked into.
Regaining control of the situation was made possible by the heroic efforts of a group of officers from the Bicholim Fire Brigade, including Shivaji Naik, Jawan Sandeep Parab, Amol Chorlekar, and Yogesh Mainkar, as well as a team from the Valpai Fire Brigade led by Station Fire Officer Santosh Gawas.
