PANAJI: The old Borim Bridge on NH-566, connecting Farmagudi–Ponda to Verna IDC, will remain closed in phases over the next few weeks to allow for critical repair works, the Public Works Department (PWD), Works Division XV, Ponda, announced on Thursday. The bridge will be closed from 8:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. on October 11–12 and October 25–26, and from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. on October 18–19 and November 1–2, 2025. During this period, heavy vehicles will be prohibited from using the bridge to ensure safety while repair activities are carried out. Motorists have been advised to plan alternate routes and exercise caution, as the schedule is subject to change depending on work progress and operational requirements. The PWD emphasized that these measures are necessary for the long-term safety and durability of the bridge, highlighting the government’s focus on maintaining critical infrastructure.
