BICHOLIM: Police Inspector Vijay Rane, who was earlier moved to the reserve force following a harassment complaint filed by a female staff member, has now been reinstated as the in-charge of Bicholim Police Station.
The reinstatement came after orders issued by the North Goa Superintendent of Police.
According to sources, the Home Department reviewed Rane’s case and decided to revoke the earlier transfer, citing his professional conduct and service record.
Rane had been shifted out of Bicholim Police Station after Goa Police initiated an internal inquiry into the complaint lodged against him by a woman staffer.
The preliminary inquiry had led to his temporary posting at the Reserve Line as a preventive administrative measure. However, officials confirmed that he has now been cleared to resume duties at Bicholim PS, following directions from the higher authorities.
