PANAJI: Ahead of the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI), the Press Information Bureau (PIB) organised an interactive session with editors and bureau chiefs of major media organisations in Goa on Tuesday to discuss media facilitation plans for the festival.
The meeting, held in Panaji, was chaired by PIB Principal Director General Dhirendra Ojha along with Director General (West Zone) Smita Vats Sharma. The officials outlined various initiatives aimed at improving media coordination and coverage during IFFI 2025, scheduled from November 20 to 28 in Goa.
Ojha said that PIB remains committed to ensuring a smooth experience for journalists and digital creators covering the festival. He detailed several facilities including dedicated press conference venues, interview spaces, real-time updates via WhatsApp groups and LED screens, as well as live streaming of key events.
Highlighting inclusivity, Ojha announced that press releases and other media material would also be made available in Konkani for the local audience. He added that the separate registration facility introduced last year for digital content creators would continue this year.
Smita Vats Sharma emphasised the crucial role of the media in enhancing IFFI’s reach and visibility, stating that robust communication systems have been put in place for better engagement.
The session began with a welcome address by PIB Goa Director Nana Meshram and concluded with a vote of thanks from PIB Mumbai Director Sayyid Rabeehashmi, who lauded the contribution of media professionals in promoting the festival.
The interaction served as a curtain-raiser for IFFI 2025, reaffirming PIB’s commitment to strengthening media support and collaboration during one of India’s premier film festivals.
