Agacaim: Agacaim police have registered a case against Shridhar Reneke (21) of Chandor, South Goa, in connection with a road accident reported near Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium, Bambolim.
As per police records, the incident occurred on January 21 at around 10.50 am when Reneke, driving a Tata V10 pickup (GA-08-V-6460) from Bambolim towards Dona Paula, allegedly drove in a rash and negligent manner. On reaching near the stadium, he reportedly took a sudden right turn through a median opening, entered the opposite carriageway, and collided with a Royal Enfield Thunderbird motorcycle (KA-53-ES-7077) proceeding from Dona Paula towards GMC Bambolim.
The impact caused grievous injuries to the motorcycle rider, Aidhi Malik (24), a resident of Dona Paula, originally from Delhi.
Based on a state complaint lodged by HC Ulhas Gaonkar of Agacaim Police Station, offences under Sections 281 and 125(b) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023 have been registered. Further investigation is in progress.
