Curtorim: Pidadigal Sports Club were crowned champions of the 2nd Caniza Peixoto Memorial Football Tournament after defeating Cumborda Sports Club 2-1 in a thrilling final held at St. Alex Church Ground, Curtorim. Organized by the Black Arrow Boys Agxem, the match saw Rywan Fernandes shine for Pidadigal with a brace. He opened the scoring before Roy Fernandes of Cumborda equalized. However, Rywan sealed the win with his second goal in the second half, leading Pidadigal SC to victory.
Curtorim MLA and IDC Chairman Reginald Lourenco was the chief guest and handed over the prizes in the presence of ZP member Michelle Rebelo, Chaplain Milagres Fernandes, Tyson Caido, Ali Shaikh, Agnelo Gomes, Conny Peixoto, Mario Gomes, and other dignitaries.
Among the individual awards, Adrian Martin of Agxem SC was named Upcoming Player, while Jonas Fernandes of Virabhat was the Youngest Player. Desly Peixoto (Agxem SC) won Best Defender, Caitano Gomes (Batora United) was Best Goalkeeper, and Afileo Fernandes (Pidadigal SC) bagged Player of the Tournament. Ryan Fernandes (Novowaddo) was Best Midfielder and Anslem Fernandes (SFX Camarxett) took Best Forward and First Scorer titles. Madel Sports Club won Best Disciplined Team.
For the final match, Rywan Fernandes (Pidadigal SC) was awarded Best Forward and First Scorer, Mackson Fernandes (Cumborda SC) was Best Midfielder, Aaron Dias (Pidadigal SC) Best Defender, and Prakash Jhosi (Pidadigal SC) Best Goalkeeper. Macroy Peixoto (Pidadigal SC) was named Man of the Finals and James Fernandes (SFX Camarxett) received the Golden Boot.
