MARGAO: The Public Works Department (PWD) has announced a planned shutdown on October 13, 2025, to carry out leakage repair and maintenance works on the 1400 mm diameter MS pipeline and 1200 mm diameter PSC pipeline of the 160 MLD Water Treatment Plant (WTP) under the jurisdiction of Works Division V, DDW, Xelpem, Sanguem.
The maintenance activity will be conducted from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on October 13. During this period, the 100 MLD WTP will continue to function as usual.
As a result, there will be restricted water supply on October 13 and 14, 2025, affecting the following areas and constituencies:
Sanguem, Curchorem, Quepem, Sanvordem, Curtorim, Cuncolim, Velim, Benaulim, Margao, Fatorda, Navelim, Nuvem, Cortalim, Dabolim, Vasco, and Mormugao.
Consumers in the affected areas are requested to store sufficient water in advance and use water judiciously during the period of restricted supply.
Normal water supply is expected to be restored by October 15, 2025, in a phased manner.
