PANJIM: Goa Health Minister Vishwajit Rane announced that Plasma therapy has started in the state for treatment of critical COVID19 patients and that two patients have been successfully administered with plasma under the compassionate use of Convalescent Plasma against COVID19.
“As committed to the people of Goa, we have started Plasma therapy in the state for treatment of critical COVID-19 patients.” said Rane
He said, “Happy to announce that two patients have been successfully administered with Plasma under the compassionate use of Convalescent Plasma against #COVID19.”
Rane further informed that his team is moving forward head on to fight this virus and emerge victorious in our fight against Covid 19.
The state-run Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) had been given the responsibility of collecting blood plasma from those who have recovered from the coronavirus infection.
Convalescent plasma therapy is an experimental procedure where plasma from the blood of a recovered COVID-19 patient is transfused to a critically ill coronavirus patient.
