PANJIM: Health Minister Vishwajit Rane has claimed that Plasma therapy treatment given to two patients recently i showing positive results.
The Minister also appealed to people cured from Covid to kindly come forward and donate plasma.
“Two patients were given plasma therapy of which one patient is showing improvement in oxygen saturation level while the other patient is as it is. We will be giving him another dose.” said Rane speaking to reporters on the sidelines of government launch event
He said, “I urge all the people who have been cured of COVID to kindly come a donate plasma. As of now we 20 people who had been cured of Covid had donated plasma. Plasma is life saver.”
Rane further infomed that the Apheresis machine will be commissioned tomorrow on a full fleged basis while also stating that that there is no shortage of any medicines.
“Whatever facilities in covid hospitals needs to ramped up will be done on war footing basis.” he added
When asked about the backlog is Covid testing, Rane said that with sudden spike in cases, the backlog naturally spirals “Now the backlog is only 1600 and odd. I guess in next two days it should be done.” the health minister claimed
He said that the state government is looking at at installing 2-3 Trunet at various locations to ease the pressure.
Commenting on the health of Cuncolim MLA Clafasio Dias, Rane said that he is doing good and that plasma therapy has not been given to him.
