New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday delivered a powerful message during a public rally, declaring that India avenged the April 22 terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam within just 22 minutes through a decisive military operation.
Addressing the crowd in Bikaner, PM Modi referred to Operation Sindoor, a swift retaliatory strike carried out by Indian armed forces on May 7. The operation, according to government sources, targeted multiple terror hideouts across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, eliminating nearly 100 terrorists linked to groups such as Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Hizbul Mujahideen.
“In response to the April 22 attack, we destroyed nine major terrorist bases in just 22 minutes,” PM Modi said. “The enemies of the world have now seen what happens when sindoor turns into gunpowder. Not blood, sindoor boils in my veins.”
The Pahalgam terror attack had claimed 26 lives, sparking nationwide outrage. PM Modi emphasized that the assault had wounded not just a region, but the hearts of 140 crore Indians.
“India stands united against terrorism,” he said. “We gave our armed forces a free hand, and they struck at the heart of terror. Pakistan has been brought to its knees.”
The Prime Minister also made it clear that there will be no negotiations or talks with Pakistan on terrorism, underlining India’s firm stance on national security.
In addition to the rally, PM Modi inaugurated the redeveloped Deshnoke Railway Station under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme and flagged off the Bikaner-Mumbai Express train. During his visit, he also interacted with schoolchildren and paid respects at the Karni Mata Temple in Deshnoke.
