New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday extended warm greetings to the people of Manipur, Meghalaya and Tripura on the occasion of their respective statehood days, praising their cultural richness, resilience and growing contribution to India’s development journey. He expressed confidence that all three states would continue to move forward on a steady path of progress in the coming years.
In his message to Manipur, the Prime Minister highlighted the dedication and hard work of its people, saying they continue to enrich the nation in many ways. He drew attention to the state’s strong sporting culture, vibrant traditions and deep connection with nature. Modi said Manipur’s commitment and collective spirit would help it advance further on the development path.
Greeting the people of Meghalaya, the Prime Minister noted the state’s meaningful contribution to national growth. He said Meghalaya is widely admired for its cultural vibrancy and natural beauty, adding that its people have played an important role in strengthening the country. Modi expressed optimism that the state would achieve new milestones and greater progress in the years ahead.
Extending wishes to Tripura, Modi described the state’s journey as a blend of tradition and modernity. He said the people of Tripura are adding momentum to India’s overall growth and noted the transformative changes witnessed by the state across various sectors. He expressed hope that Tripura would continue to prosper and expand its development footprint.
Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha thanked the Prime Minister for his greetings, stating that the message reflected the Centre’s commitment to inclusive development, improved connectivity, peace and prosperity in the Northeast. He said the wishes reinforced confidence in the continued partnership between the state and the Union government.
Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma also conveyed gratitude on behalf of the people of the state, acknowledging the Prime Minister’s warm message and consistent guidance. He said Meghalaya remains deeply thankful for the support extended by the Union government and central ministries in accelerating development, and noted his appreciation for the Prime Minister remembering the vision of late P A Sangma.
In Manipur, the Governor conveyed the state’s appreciation for the Prime Minister’s message, saying it reaffirmed the Centre’s focus on development, inclusive growth and expanded opportunities while honouring Manipur’s heritage and resilience. The message was received as a reaffirmation of continued support for the state’s progress.
