Nagpur witnessed a historic moment as Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid homage to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), lauding its contributions to service and national consciousness. This visit, marking an RSS event during the Gudi Padwa festival, highlighted the deep-rooted ideological alignment between the RSS and the BJP.
In a public gathering, PM Modi praised the RSS for its dedication to social service across the nation. The Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for the Madhav Netralaya Premium Centre, a new extension of the Madhav Netralaya Eye Institute & Research Centre. This facility is designed to provide affordable eye care services, including a 250-bed hospital and 14 modular operation theatres, underscoring the RSS’s vision of selfless service.
Modi visited the memorial of RSS founder Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar at Smruti Mandir, where he paid floral tribute alongside RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat. This gesture reinforced the Prime Minister’s admiration for the RSS’s founding ideals. Additionally, PM Modi visited Deekshabhoomi, a significant site for Buddhists where Dr. BR Ambedkar embraced Buddhism, reinforcing his commitment to social justice and equality.
PM Modi also signed the visitor’s book at Smruti Mandir, acknowledging the inspiration drawn from RSS founders Hedgewar and Golwalkar. He emphasized the RSS’s role in energizing Indian culture and national consciousness, highlighting its enduring legacy. In a broader context, Modi underscored the importance of cultural expansion and national conscience in overcoming historical challenges.
