New Delhi: In a remarkable display of unity and spiritual harmony, Prime Minister Narendra Modi joined thousands in chanting the revered Navkar Mahamantra during the Vishwa Navkar Mahamantra Divas held at Vigyan Bhawan in Delhi. This global event aimed to foster peace, non-violence, and spiritual awakening worldwide. After the collective chanting, PM Modi emphasized the need for collective action by urging the nation to embrace nine resolutions for a better future.
The gathering was notable for PM Modi sitting among the public during the chanting, reinforcing the inclusive nature of the event. The Prime Minister’s nine resolutions included crucial steps such as water conservation, planting trees in honor of one’s mother, promoting cleanliness, and supporting local products. Additionally, he encouraged fostering national pride through cultural exploration, adopting sustainable farming practices, embracing healthy lifestyles, incorporating yoga and sports into daily routines, and lending support to the underprivileged. PM Modi underscored the Navkar Mahamantra as a guiding force that offers a new direction to the younger generation, blending spirituality with practical wisdom.
The Vishwa Navkar Mahamantra Divas is an annual occasion celebrated on April 9, dedicated to promoting global peace and spiritual harmony through the collective chanting of the Navkar Mantra. This sacred chant honors the five supreme beings in Jainism: Arihants, Siddhas, Acharyas, Upadhyayas, and Sadhus. Beyond Delhi, the event saw significant participation in other cities. For instance, over 10,000 individuals gathered in Surat for the chanting, while the Jain International Trade Organisation (JITO) USA organized a 24-hour Navkar Mahamantra chant to engage the Jain community in North America.
The event’s global reach is a testament to the mantra’s power to transcend geographical boundaries and unite people in a shared quest for peace and harmony.
