New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Egypt’s Foreign Minister, Dr. Badr Abdelatty, in New Delhi and praised Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi for his pivotal role in facilitating the Gaza Peace Agreement, calling it a significant step toward regional stability.
During the meeting, Abdelatty briefed the Prime Minister on the outcomes of the first India–Egypt Strategic Dialogue, which is taking place during his ongoing two-day visit to India. The talks focused on reviewing progress under the bilateral strategic partnership and enhancing collaboration across key sectors, including trade, technology, energy, defence, and people-to-people exchanges.
PM Modi expressed satisfaction with the growing cooperation between the two nations and highlighted India’s commitment to deepening engagement with Egypt. He underscored the importance of Egypt’s constructive role in promoting peace and stability in West Asia.
“Pleased to receive Foreign Minister of Egypt, Dr. Badr Abdelatty. Conveyed deep appreciation for my friend, President Sisi, for his crucial role in the Gaza Peace Agreement,” PM Modi wrote on X. The Ministry of External Affairs noted that Dr. Abdelatty’s visit is a significant milestone in advancing the India–Egypt Strategic Partnership, first established during President Sisi’s state visit to India in 2023. The visit provides an opportunity to review progress in implementing bilateral initiatives and to exchange views on regional and global developments.
Apart from his meeting with the Prime Minister, the Egyptian Foreign Minister is scheduled to hold discussions with External Affairs Minister S.
