New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Droupadi Murmu on Wednesday extended their greetings to the Indian Air Force (IAF) on its 93rd Foundation Day, lauding the courage, professionalism, and dedication of the air warriors who safeguard the nation’s skies.
In a message on X, Prime Minister Modi praised the IAF for its valour and discipline, saying the force has always stood firm in defending the country, even in the most testing circumstances. “Greetings to all the courageous Air Warriors and their families on Air Force Day. The Indian Air Force epitomises bravery, discipline and precision. They have played a vital role in safeguarding our skies, including during the most challenging situations,” he said.
The Prime Minister also highlighted the Air Force’s vital role in humanitarian and disaster relief operations. “Their commitment, professionalism, and indomitable spirit continue to make every Indian proud,” he added.
President Murmu, in her message on X, extended warm wishes to air warriors, veterans, and their families, praising the IAF’s readiness and excellence in every mission. “The Indian Air Force has always demonstrated courage, commitment, and excellence. Our air warriors protect our skies and serve the nation with tireless dedication during disasters and humanitarian missions. The Air Force has made the nation proud with its strength and readiness to face every challenge,” she wrote.
Air Chief Marshal AP Singh led the Air Force Day celebrations at the Hindon Air Base in Ghaziabad, marking the occasion with a display of precision flying and aerial prowess. The annual celebration commemorates the establishment of the Indian Air Force on October 8, 1932, and honours the sacrifices and achievements of its personnel.
Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi, Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, and Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh paid tributes to the fallen heroes at the National War Memorial in New Delhi.
In a video message released on the eve of the occasion, Air Chief Marshal Singh said Air Force Day is dedicated to all those who have protected the nation’s airspace with courage and dedication. He reaffirmed the IAF’s commitment to maintaining operational readiness and advancing the nation’s air power to meet future challenges.
The 93rd Air Force Day celebrations reflected not only the IAF’s proud legacy but also its continued evolution as a modern, technologically advanced force dedicated to the security and service of the nation.
