New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday reminded the nation of his pledge to eliminate terrorists responsible for the April 22 Pahalgam attack, saying the vow he made from Bihar’s soil has been fulfilled through Operation Sindoor.
Speaking at a public gathering in Gayaji after launching multiple projects, the Prime Minister hailed Bihar as the “land of Chanakya and Chandragupta Maurya” and said that every resolution taken here is fulfilled in time.
“When the Pahalgam terror attack happened, I had vowed from this land to reduce the terrorists to dust. The world has witnessed that resolve fulfilled,” he said, adding that Operation Sindoor marked a decisive shift in India’s security policy.
Turning his attack towards the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and its allies, PM Modi accused them of reducing Bihar’s people to a “vote bank” and recalled the hardships faced during the so-called “lalten raj”.
“During that era, Maoist violence and lack of electricity forced generations to migrate. Our priority is to ensure Bihar’s sons and daughters find opportunities and dignity here itself,” he said.
The Prime Minister also inaugurated and launched several key projects, including the ₹6,880-crore Buxar Thermal Power Plant, which is expected to boost electricity generation and energy security in the region. He also flagged off two trains—the Amrit Bharat Express between Gayaji and Delhi and the Buddhist Circuit train connecting Vaishali and Koderma, aimed at promoting connectivity and tourism.
In addition, PM Modi inaugurated the Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Research Centre in Muzaffarpur, further strengthening healthcare infrastructure in the state.
The event was attended by Governor Arif Mohammad Khan, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary, along with Union and state ministers, MPs, and MLAs.
